The Black Lamp was a secret and illegal working class working class revolutionary group that existed in the early 19th century in Yorkshire. There is little documentary evidence of the group's activities and historians dispute those details that do remain. Some historians assert the group may not have existed at all! Be that as it may, the modern, musical incarnation of Black Lamp does exist - whether that is a good thing or not another matter entirely.
